CFO Alliance Releases Project Greenlight 2026: A Peer-Built Blueprint for Finance Leaders Navigating AI, Capital Pressure, and Enterprise Disruption
Organized by CFO Alliance with support from Oracle NetSuite and created by senior finance leaders from across industries and growth stages.
Berwyn, PA - November 17, 2025 - The CFO Alliance today announced the release of Project Greenlight 2026: The CFO’s Fast Track to Execution, a peer-built blueprint created by CFOs, Controllers, FP&A leaders, and senior finance executives working in public, private, PE-backed, VC-backed, and nonprofit organizations.
Undertaken in mid-October 2025 and completed in just a few weeks, the initiative was organized by CFO Alliance and supported by operational and technology insight from Oracle NetSuite. It is designed explicitly to equip finance leaders for 2026, which many contributors describe as “the most pivotal year the finance function has faced in a decade.”
Why 2026 is so pivotal
Contributors point to a convergence of forces hitting finance leaders next year:
- AI moving from experimentation to expectation, reshaping workflows, decision cycles, and talent requirements
- Persistent capital pressure, with boards and investors demanding clearer return on capital
- Higher stakes for CFO-CEO-Board alignment as risk, strategy, and transformation all compress
- Structural shifts in business and industry models require faster pivots and more confident execution
In response, CFO Alliance members mobilized to build something usable before year-end: a set of tools and frameworks their peers can put to work as they enter 2026.
“We organized the effort, but the ideas, tools, and clarity came directly from the leaders living this work every day,” said Nick Araco, Jr., Founder and CEO of CFO Alliance. “Project Greenlight 2026 is built for the year ahead: practical, fast-moving, and grounded in what finance teams must deliver when the clock turns.”
What’s Inside Project Greenlight 2026
The report brings together insights and tools shaped by senior finance leaders one seat above, in, and one seat below the top finance role, those responsible for strategy, planning, accounting, capital allocation, and enterprise transformation.
It is organized into four core sections:
1. The 2026 Finance Landscape
A concise analysis of why 2026 is expected to be the most pivotal year in a decade, featuring insights on AI acceleration, capital pressure, forecasting expectations, and the expanding influence of the finance function.
2. Decision & Alignment Frameworks
Practical models that help CFOs and their teams make faster, clearer decisions and drive stronger alignment across CEOs, boards, and business units.
3. Execution Operating Models
Tools and structures for turning strategy into measurable, accountable progress, built for the speed, scrutiny, and discipline 2026 will require.
4. AI, Automation & Future-of-Finance Playbooks
Finance-tested guidance on adopting AI responsibly and measurably, including early steps leaders can take in Q1 and Q2 to strengthen data, governance, and team readiness.
Oracle NetSuite’s Perspective
“This effort reflects what we’re hearing from finance leaders across the market: 2026 is not business-as-usual,” said Ranga Bodla, VP of Field Engagement at Oracle NetSuite. “The CFO Alliance community has built something grounded in real urgency and execution: tools that finance teams can start using immediately as they plan and act for next year.”
